Join Your Class and Get to Work.

How to go from a class link to working on your group's board.

  1. 01

    Open your invite

Your lecturer shares a class link or QR code, or emails you an invite. Open it on a laptop or a phone. There's nothing to install.

  2. 02

    Create your account

Sign up with your email address and a password. If your lecturer emailed you an invite, sign up with that same address.

  3. 03

    Confirm your email

We send you a verification link when you sign up. It expires within 24 hours, and you need a confirmed email to join a class.

If it didn't arrive, choose Verify my email on the invite page. Once you confirm, you come straight back to your class.

  4. 04

    Choose a username

Pick a username of 3 to 30 characters, with at least one letter. It's how your teammates @mention you, and you can change it later in your profile.

  5. 05

    Join the class

On the invite page, choose Join class.

Signed up without the link? If your email is on the class roster, an Invited card appears in your sidebar. Open it and accept.

  6. 06

Wait to be placed in a group

Until your lecturer puts you in a group, your class shows a short waiting screen. Your group's board appears there as soon as you're placed. If your lecturer already assigned your group, you skip this step.

  7. 07

    Work on your group's board

Add a card for each piece of work and drag it across the columns as it moves. Open a card to set an assignee, priority, deadline and tags, write a description, and attach files. Every change shows up for your group straight away.

  8. 08

    Talk on the card

Comment on a task, @mention a teammate, or type # to link another task. Anyone you mention gets a notification.

  9. 09

    Stay in the loop

In Settings, under Notifications, turn on a Daily email summary so a mention never slips past you. Push notifications work too, in browsers that support them.

  10. 10

Know who can see your board

Your lecturer, and any co-teacher covering your group, can see your group's board. Their class panels summarise activity such as comments and how tasks moved. Kanbedu doesn't grade you, and what happens next is up to your lecturer. Security & Privacy.

Kanbedu isn't only for class. Make your own boards from the sidebar for anything else, and invite whoever you like.
