Backlog finally knows it's backlog

Columns can now be marked Start, the same way they can be marked Done. Mark your backlog or wishlist column as Start and it stops accruing the “waiting” flag entirely, no matter how long tasks sit there before someone picks them up. This replaces the old rule, which only ever protected the very first column on a board, so a second backlog-style column would quietly get flagged as stalled when it was never meant to move fast in the first place.

Monitor and Analytics now read from the exact same rule, so the two panels can't disagree with each other, and the label is “Waiting” everywhere instead of “stalled” in one place and “needs a nudge” in another. The threshold also moved from 3 days to 5, so you'll see fewer tasks flagged than before. That's intentional: a task sitting for a couple of days isn't unusual, and the old threshold was catching too many of those.

Setting this up for a whole class is one control per column in the Preset tab: Active, Start, or Done. Columns now sort themselves into Start-first, Done-last order automatically, matching how boards already display them, and removing a column asks you to confirm first since it also clears out any seed tasks sitting in it.

Analytics on every class board

Chart-based analytics was a personal-board feature. It's now on class group boards too, for educators and students alike, opening from the board title menu the same way it does everywhere else. Start and Done columns are shown as their own category in the charts, with a muted color and a legend entry, so a parked backlog doesn't read as busy work in progress.

Recently deleted, cleared in one click

An Empty trash button now sits in the Recently deleted panel, for permanently clearing every soft-deleted task on a board instead of waiting out the 30-day auto-purge. Both it and Analytics now live in the board's title menu rather than a standalone toolbar icon, so everything about the board you're looking at is in one place. A few rough edges from that panel's last redesign are also cleaned up: failed deletes or restores now show a message instead of failing silently, and the quick-add button in a column header no longer steals focus from whatever you were mid-typing.

One badge, one tooltip, everywhere

Priority, phase, and deadline tags were drawn separately in the task modal, list view, board cards, and public share links, so they didn't always look like the same feature. They're now one shared design used in all four places. Every hand-rolled tooltip in the app (columns, tasks, Monitor, Integrity) was replaced the same way, which also fixed one that was rendering backwards in dark mode.

And a stack of small things that were quietly annoying

Column colors no longer reshuffle when you drag columns around, they're locked in the moment a column is created. Renaming a column by typing in its header no longer risks dragging the column instead. Long column and task names clip cleanly with an ellipsis instead of overflowing past the edge of the header. Pressing Escape now reliably closes a board every time, in every panel. There's a new keyboard shortcut, V, to flip between Board and List view. Clicking a flagged task in Integrity now opens it directly on its board instead of leaving you to go find it. And the app is finally rendering in the actual Geist font it was always supposed to use, instead of your browser's fallback font the entire time. Support & Feedback, this changelog, and the legal pages also moved into Settings, under a new Help section, instead of sitting on their own in the sidebar.
